1. What We Collect
To run ndakuda, we collect the information you give us directly, plus a small amount of data the app needs to function:
- Account info: name, email, password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text), date of birth, gender, and who you're interested in.
- Profile content: bio, profile photos, profession, education, and other details you choose to add.
- Verification selfie: a photo submitted when you join a club, used only to confirm you're a real person and reviewed manually by our team.
- Location: approximate latitude/longitude, used to show you nearby profiles and date spots. You control this permission on your device.
- Messages: the content of chats you send to your matches.
- Community posts: anything you post or comment on the Community board.
- Usage & device data: a push-notification token (if enabled) and basic technical data needed to keep the service running securely.
- Payment data: club membership payments are processed through your device's app store (Google Play / Apple App Store) — we do not see or store your card details.
2. How We Use It
- To create and run your profile, and to power matching, chat, Places, and Community.
- To verify your identity by hand before you can join a club.
- To keep the platform safe — detecting bans, abuse reports, and policy violations.
- To send you notifications you've opted into (new matches, messages, verification updates).
3. Verification Photos
Your verification selfie is only visible to our admin review team. Once a decision is made on your application — approved or rejected — the photo is permanently deleted from our servers. It is never shown to other members or shared publicly.
4. Who We Share Data With
We don't sell your personal data. Your public profile (name, age, photos, bio) is visible to other verified members within your club, as designed. We may share limited data with service providers who help us run the app (such as cloud hosting or push notification delivery), under confidentiality obligations, or when required by law.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and messages are removed from active use. Verification selfies are deleted immediately after review regardless of account status.
6. Your Rights
You can review and edit most of your profile information directly in the app. To request a copy of your data, ask a correction, or request account deletion, reach out via our Contact page.
This policy may be updated from time to time as ndakuda evolves. We'll post the updated date at the top of this page whenever we make changes.
